Detailed Introduction
TrafficMonitor is a free, open-source Windows utility that shows network upload/download speed, CPU and memory usage in a customizable floating window. It can be docked into the taskbar, supports custom skins and themes, and offers optional hardware monitoring (temperature, GPU, disk usage) via a plugin system. With over 44,000 stars, it's one of the most popular system monitoring tools on GitHub. Users can choose between a standard version (with admin rights for hardware sensors) and a Lite version (no admin needed, without temperature monitoring). The software also includes historical traffic statistics, a plugin system for extensibility, and multi-language support.
Troubleshooting & FAQ (1)
TroubleshootingWhy is TrafficMonitor blocked after updating to version 1.86 on Windows 11?
This is often caused by Windows Security's reputation-based protection being turned off, possibly after a Windows update. To fix:
1. Open **Windows Security**.
2. Go to **App & browser control**.
3. Under **Reputation-based protection**, ensure it is **On**.
If already on, try toggling it off and on again. Rolling back to version 1.85.1 is a temporary workaround, but enabling reputation-based protection resolves the blocking for 1.86.
