**Solution: Adjust your reverse proxy to allow larger request headers**

1. **Caddy**: Increase the `header` buffer size in your Caddyfile:
   ```caddy
   reverse_proxy 192.168.0.2:9999 {
       header_up X-Real-IP {remote_host}
       header_up X-Forwarded-For {remote_host}
       buffer_requests
       buffer_responses
       max_header_size 8192
   }
   ```
   The default max header size is often 4 KB; 8 KB (8192 bytes) typically resolves the issue.

2. **Authelia**: If Authelia is rejecting the headers, configure a bypass policy for the DataTables endpoints or increase the `headers` buffer in Authelia’s configuration (`max_header_size` option). Alternatively, set a bypass rule for paths containing `/loadhome` or other DataTables endpoints.

3. **Temporary Workaround**: Access Mylar directly via IP and port (e.g., `http://192.168.0.2:9999/mylar`) to confirm the issue only occurs through the reverse proxy chain. If that works, the problem is entirely on the proxy side.

After applying the changes, restart both Caddy and Authelia. The Ajax error and the 431 response should disappear.

**Line 443:** replace `if all([self.comicid is None, '_' not in self.issueid]):` with `if self.comicid is None and self.issueid is not None and '_' not in self.issueid:`

**Line 447:** replace `if '_' in self.issueid:` with `if self.issueid is not None and '_' in self.issueid:`

This patch uses short-circuit evaluation to avoid checking `None` for the `in` operator. After editing, restart Mylar3. The development branch may already include this fix; update to the latest `python3-dev` Docker image if available.
