Smart Download
Download Download Version
v3.1.0.4875 · 135.3 MB
Automated music downloader & organizer that keeps your library fresh and high-quality.
Core Features
- Monitors RSS feeds for new tracks from favorite artists
- Scans existing library and downloads missing tracks
- Automatically upgrades to better quality when available
- Handles failed downloads by trying alternative releases
- Manual search mode with release details
What It Can't Do
- •The Lidarr Metadata Server is currently recovering from a cache rebuild, causing delays when adding artists or importing libraries (track GitHub Issue #5498 or Discord). You must configure your own indexers (e.g., via Jackett). Automatic upgrades can consume extra bandwidth – adjust quality profiles accordingly. Some private trackers may require additional setup.
Use Cases
- Keep your personal music library up-to-date with minimal effort
- Fill gaps in an existing music collection and maintain consistent naming
- Run a dedicated home music server with automatic content curation
Detailed Introduction
Lidarr is a music collection manager designed for Usenet and BitTorrent users. It monitors RSS feeds for new tracks from your favorite artists, automatically downloads, sorts, and renames them. It also supports automatic quality upgrades, failed download handling, manual search, and full integration with download clients (SABnzbd, NZBGet) and media servers (Kodi, Plex). It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Raspberry Pi.
Troubleshooting & FAQ (1)
TroubleshootingWhy does Lidarr show 'No medium information is available' for an album that exists on MusicBrainz?
This happens when the corresponding MusicBrainz release has status 'unknown'. Lidarr's metadata server ignores releases with unknown status. To fix it, go to MusicBrainz, find the release (e.g., via MBID), edit it to set the status to 'Official' (or another known status like 'Promotion' or 'Bootleg'), and save. After the change, refresh the album in Lidarr or wait for the metadata server to sync.
