v0.11.2 · 2 GB

GPU-powered, free tool that restores mosaiced areas in videos and images.

Core Features

  • Detects and tracks mosaics frame by frame, restoring only the affected area
  • Free BasicVSR++ model included; optional LTX diffusion and UNet 4x models for supporters
  • Full GPU pipeline: decoding, detection, restoration and encoding all run on the graphics card
  • Segment Editor to restore only chosen parts, plus live preview in the built-in Video Player
  • Supports VR180 videos, still images (SD 1.5) and batch processing via the command line

What It Can't Do

  • •Requires an NVIDIA GTX 16-series / RTX 20-series or newer GPU; GTX 10-series and older do not work at all, and AMD support (RX 7000/9000) is experimental with reduced features. The install path must not contain non-English characters, network drives are unsupported, and an SSD is strongly recommended. The first run takes 15-60 minutes to build models for your GPU. Enhanced models (LTX, UNet 4x, SD 1.5) require a paid supporter license ($15/$25 tiers), LTX is NVIDIA-only, and each license covers 3 machines. Lower Max Clip Size if you run out of VRAM. Restored content is AI-generated guesswork, not the true original, so results vary by source material. Download only from GitHub - third-party sellers of license codes or modified builds are scams - and use the tool only in legal, appropriate contexts.

Use Cases

  • Restoring mosaiced regions in video footage
  • Batch-processing entire folders of videos or images
  • Restoring only selected segments of a long video to save time
  • Handling side-by-side VR180 videos

Jasna is an open-source (AGPL-3.0) video restoration tool focused on removing mosaics from videos and images. It decodes, detects, tracks, restores and re-encodes entirely on the GPU, so only the mosaiced region changes while the rest of the frame stays untouched. It ships the free BasicVSR++ restoration model, while supporters unlock sharper UNet 4x upscaling, SD 1.5 image restoration and the slower but more detailed LTX diffusion model (NVIDIA only). Extras include a Segment Editor for restoring only chosen parts, VR180 video support, live preview in a built-in Video Player, and a full command line for batch jobs. Unlike legacy tools such as DeepMosaics or the closed-source JAVPlayer, Jasna combines an actively maintained end-to-end GPU pipeline, a polished GUI and transparent open-source code. Requires an NVIDIA GTX 16/RTX 20-series or newer (AMD RX 7000/9000 experimental) and a first-run model build of 15-60 minutes.

Uninstall Info

Jasna is a portable app with no installer: simply delete the unpacked folder to remove it completely. Before deleting, consider backing up the model_weights folder, since it stores the compiled model cache that can be copied into newer versions to skip the lengthy first-run build.

No Extra Dependencies

Ready to use after download. No additional runtime required.
