v32.1.2 · 188.1 MB

Free, open-source video recording and live streaming software with powerful scene compositing.

Core Features

  • Multi-source scene composition: combine screen, camera, images, text, etc. with transitions
  • Hardware-accelerated encoding: supports NVENC, AMF, Intel QSV for low-latency high-quality streaming
  • Extensive plugin ecosystem: community-driven filters, audio tools, and integrations

What It Can't Do

Detailed Introduction

OBS Studio is a powerful, free, and open-source application for video recording and live streaming. It allows users to capture video from various sources (screen, camera, window, etc.), compose scenes with overlays and transitions, encode in real-time, and stream to platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. Its modular plugin system extends functionality, while the intuitive interface makes professional-grade production accessible to everyone. Cross-platform (Windows, macOS, Linux) and actively maintained by a large community.

Troubleshooting & FAQ (1)

Troubleshooting
How to fix OBS browser source stuttering when OBS window loses focus on Windows 11?

This is caused by Windows enabling Efficiency Mode on obs-browser-page.exe processes, throttling them when OBS loses focus. Workaround: In Task Manager > Details tab, right-click each obs-browser-page.exe process, choose 'Set priority' > 'High', then disable 'Efficiency mode' from the right-click menu. Note: These settings reset when OBS restarts. Track OBS issue #12982 for a permanent fix.
