v0.5.1 · 162.2 MB
A fully-local, open-source voice cloning suite that rivals ElevenLabs — no cloud, no metering, 646 languages.
Core Features
- Clone a voice from 3–15 seconds of reference audio (zero-shot synthesis)
- Design new voices via adjectives, age, accent, pitch, and style descriptions
- Video dubbing pipeline: transcribe, translate, preserve speakers, export video
- Audiobook & story creation: multi-voice scripts, EPUB/PDF import, .m4b exports
- System-wide dictation widget with live transcription and optional local-LLM cleanup
What It Can't Do
- •Active beta: use the latest release for stable work; main branch is under development
- •CPU mode is slow without an NVIDIA GPU or Apple Silicon; 16GB+ RAM recommended
- •Default OmniVoice model weights are CC-BY-NC – check licenses for commercial use
- •Intel Macs cannot run the local Python backend; use a remote/worker setup
Use Cases
- Create multilingual voiceovers for videos, courses, and podcasts without paying per minute
- Produce private audiobooks and batch voice content locally for strict data privacy
VoiceStudio (formerly OmniVoice-Studio) is a fully-local, open-source alternative to hosted voice services like ElevenLabs. It lets you clone voices from a short sample, design custom voices from text descriptions, dub videos with speaker preservation, transcribe audio, run dictation, and produce long-form audiobooks — all on your own hardware with no account, API key, subscription, or usage meter. Unlike typical cloud services that require sending audio to a provider, VoiceStudio keeps data on your machine by default, with remote features as opt-in. The app bundles 16 TTS engines (including the default OmniVoice model with 600+ languages, CosyVoice 3, GPT-SoVITS) and 11 ASR engines for transcription and diarization. It runs on macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows, Linux, and Docker, with automatic GPU detection for CUDA, MPS, and ROCm. The desktop app includes a Model Catalogue for installing/routing models, a batch queue, vocal isolation, AI watermarking, MCP server integration, and an OpenAI-compatible local API. Licensed under AGPL-3.0, VoiceStudio gives you complete control over your voice data and workflows, with a self-check diagnostic tool and privacy-first design.
