Movie collection manager for Usenet and BitTorrent users. Automatically grabs, sorts, renames, and upgrades movie quality.

Smart Download

Download Download Version

v6.1.1.10360 · 140.5 MB

One-stop movie automation tool: auto-download, organize, and upgrade quality via Usenet/BitTorrent.

Core Features

  • Add movies with trailers, ratings, and rich info
  • Cross-platform: Windows, Linux, macOS, Raspberry Pi
  • Auto-upgrade quality (DVD → Blu-ray, etc.)
  • Automatic failed download handling
  • Manual search with failure reasons

What It Can't Do

  • Radarr does not host any content; you need an indexer (Jackett/Prowlarr) and a download client. Do not expose the Web UI directly to the internet; use a reverse proxy or VPN. To keep both 4K and 1080p copies of the same movie, run multiple instances. Default listen address is 0.0.0.0; change to 127.0.0.1 or bind to your LAN IP for security.

Use Cases

  • Build a home media server that automatically grabs the latest Blu-ray releases
  • Batch download and organize movie collections from private trackers or Usenet
  • Fully automate media management alongside Plex/Jellyfin/Emby

Detailed Introduction

Radarr is a movie collection manager designed for Usenet and BitTorrent users. It monitors multiple RSS feeds for new movies, interfaces with download clients and indexers to automatically grab, sort, and rename releases. It can also be configured to upgrade existing files when a better quality becomes available. Supports major platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS, Raspberry Pi), integrates with SABnzbd, NZBGet, qBittorrent, Deluge, rTorrent, Transmission, uTorrent, and others. Full integration with Kodi and Plex for notifications and library updates. Advanced profiling, manual search, automatic failed download handling, and metadata import (trailers, subtitles, posters).

Troubleshooting & FAQ (2)

Troubleshooting
How to fix 'authentication failure' error in Radarr when using qBittorrent 5.2.0beta1?

This is a known incompatibility between Radarr/Sonarr and qBittorrent 5.2.0beta1 due to API changes. Temporary workaround: downgrade qBittorrent to version 5.1.4 or an alpha1 build from before October 16, 2025. A permanent fix requires an update to Radarr's qBittorrent integration. Track issue #11339 for progress.

GitHub Issue #11339
Troubleshooting
Why does Radarr still show a movie as Downloaded after the movie folder has been deleted?

Radarr intentionally avoids updating the status to 'Missing' when an entire movie folder is removed, to prevent data loss if the root folder is unmounted (e.g., network share disconnect). To force a status update, use one of these workarounds: 1) Manually recreate an empty folder with the exact movie name, then run 'Refresh & Scan' – Radarr will detect it empty and mark the movie as missing. 2) Delete the movie from the Radarr UI and re-add/re-monitor it. An enhancement request is open to implement a root folder health check that would safely mark movies missing when the folder is deleted but the root path is accessible.
