What It Can't Do
- •Android only; no iOS version exists. It is not distributed via Google Play, so sideloading or F-Droid is required. Downloading copyrighted videos may violate platform terms of service. As a hard fork of NewPipe, it does not track upstream fixes, so behavior differs from NewPipe. Cookie-based login carries a small account-risk; using a secondary account is safer. The developer does not accept requests to add new services.

Hard-forked from NewPipe in 2022, it delivers faster fixes and extra features upstream lacks: integrated SponsorBlock auto-skips sponsored segments, ReturnYouTubeDislike restores dislike counts, and optional login unlocks restricted or premium content. It supports danmaku-style live chat overlays, AV1/VP9 codecs, background music playback, advanced search filters, keyword/channel blocking, shorts and paid-video filtering, swipe-to-seek gestures, long-press speed control, sleep timer, and full playlist downloads. Compared to the official YouTube app it is lighter, ad-free, and account-free; compared to NewPipe it is more feature-rich and updated more often. GPL-3.0 licensed, installable via F-Droid or IzzyOnDroid.
