v4.8.21.0 · 116.1 MB

Self-host your own VPN server with one click, supporting obfuscated protocols and split tunneling across all major platforms.

Core Features

  • One-click deployment: enter server IP and SSH credentials to auto-install Docker and configure VPN
  • Multiple protocols: OpenVPN, WireGuard, IKEv2 plus obfuscated: Cloak, Shadowsocks, AmneziaWG, XRay
  • Split tunneling: route only specific sites or apps through VPN
  • Cross-platform: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  • Open source under GPL-3.0

What It Can't Do

  • You need your own VPS or server (Linux recommended, Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
  • Some cloud providers prohibit VPN traffic; check their terms of service
  • Obfuscation protocols (e.g., Cloak) can evade simple DPI but are not guaranteed to hide all VPN traffic
  • Mobile split tunneling is app-limited (Android only); iOS does not support app-level routing

Use Cases

  • Self-host a secure VPN without relying on third-party logs
  • Bypass internet censorship and access geo-blocked services
  • Set up a permanent VPN for your router or home network

Detailed Introduction

Amnezia VPN is an open-source client that makes self-hosted VPN accessible to everyone. Unlike traditional VPN clients that require manual server setup, Amnezia automates the entire process: enter your server's IP, SSH credentials, and it installs Docker containers with the chosen VPN protocol automatically. It supports both classic protocols (OpenVPN, WireGuard, IKEv2) and advanced obfuscation techniques (Cloak, Shadowsocks, AmneziaWG, XRay) to bypass deep packet inspection. Split tunneling lets you route only specific sites or apps through the VPN. Compared to solutions like Algo or Streisand, Amnezia focuses on a user-friendly GUI across all major platforms, including mobile. It's also the first client to natively support AmneziaWG configuration on Keenetic routers. Built on Qt, it provides a consistent experience across desktop and mobile.
